Vivaha ("we", "us") operates a matrimony platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information, in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: name, mobile number, email address, password (stored hashed).
- Profile data: age, height, religion, community, education, profession, location, marital status, photographs, family details, partner preferences.
- Usage data: logins, pages viewed, matches, interests sent/received, messages metadata.
- Payment data: plan purchased, transaction status, amount. Card/UPI numbers are handled only by our PCI-compliant payment gateway; we never store full card details.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To create and operate your account and share your profile with other members.
- To send service notifications (interests, messages, plan receipts) by email or on-site.
- To provide subscription, support and fraud-prevention services.
- To comply with legal obligations under Indian law.
We process data on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time from Profile Settings or by writing to our Grievance Officer.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with: (a) other members as per your visibility settings, (b) payment and email service providers under contractual confidentiality, (c) law-enforcement agencies upon lawful request.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is stored for as long as your account is active. On account deletion, profile and message data is erased within 30 days, except records we must retain by law (e.g. invoices).
5. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, role-based admin access and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; report concerns to our Grievance Officer immediately.
6. Your Rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
You may: (a) access a summary of your data and processing, (b) correct or erase your data, (c) withdraw consent, (d) nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, (e) grieve non-compliance. Requests can be made from within the app or via the contact below; we respond within the timelines prescribed by the DPDP Rules.
7. Children
Vivaha is intended for adults (18+, and marriageable age under Indian law). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
